UK Camping Holidays

The United Kingdom and especially Northumbria is blessed with great places where families can enjoy a camping holiday. From its famous seaside resorts, to the spectacular scenery of the national parks, to pleasant agricultural settings, Britain is a great place to take a break under canvas.

Accommodation at some great camping sites can be found in the United Kingdom`s many national parks, which provide easy access to great outdoor facilities. From Dartmoor in the south west of England to North Yorkshire, Northumberland and the Cairngorms in northern Scotland, Britain`s national parks cover the whole country.

For those looking for less dramatic scenery or more gentle activities, then some of England`s lowland rural areas provide some great campsites. The Cotswolds, in Gloucestershire, for example, allow access to the River Severn and its many activities, as well as being within reach of attractions further north, such as Stratford-upon-Avon.

Rugged Northumberland

Scotland, Wales and the more remote parts of England such as Northumberland or the far south west are the places where those in search of a more rugged experience will head. There is some of the most beautiful scenery in Europe to see here, but it is well worth remembering that the weather is never predictable in Britain and, especially on its upland fringes, Britain can be a wet place if a traveller has the wrong clothes with them.

Cycle From South Shields to Cumbria

Killingworth Lake and the Northumberland National Park are beautiful and interesting places to visit. Hadrian’s Wall runs from South Shields across the North of England to the coast in Cumbria. There is also a cycle path that runs from the Cumbrian coast to the mouth of the Tyne in South Shields. So after a hearty breakfast at the Kingsmere hotel, why not saddle up and see how far you can get in a day. Bear in mind that it is possible to cycle out and take the train / metro back, when you will no doubt have earned a refreshing beer in one of South Shields’ friendly local bars.

South Shields – North East Holiday Location

The seaside remains a popular choice with holidaymakers and many of the UK`s seaside resorts have seen some significant regeneration in recent years, from south coast destinations, to traditional venues on the east coast such as Skegness and Scarborough, right up to the seaside spots closest to Newcastle-upon-Tyne such as South Shields and Whitley Bay

Many Whitley Bay holiday park reviews indicate that the Geordie resort is a good choice of place to visit for a seaside camping holiday.
